"…Living only for the moment, turning our full attention to the pleasures of the moon, the snow, the cherry blossoms and the maple leaves; singing songs, drinking wine, diverting ourselves just floating, floating….refusing to be disheartened, like a gourd floating along with the river current; this is what we call the floating world…” Asai Ryoi, in Ukiyo Monogatari (Tales of the Floating World, 1661)

Like A Giant Lizard
The heat of the day is lulling me to sleep. I want to just lay in the sun and soak it up through my skin like a giant lizard. We are in the second day of 80+ temperatures here in this part of California and it has been very enjoyable. It is nice to feel the return of spring and the promise of summer on my skin. I am not up to much tonight - I think I am going to curl up and read a book for a while, maybe tinker around the house again - in short, keep it easy, keep it simple.
