"…Living only for the moment, turning our full attention to the pleasures of the moon, the snow, the cherry blossoms and the maple leaves; singing songs, drinking wine, diverting ourselves just floating, floating….refusing to be disheartened, like a gourd floating along with the river current; this is what we call the floating world…” Asai Ryoi, in Ukiyo Monogatari (Tales of the Floating World, 1661)

Thursday Morning
It is Thursday morning. I logged off work last night having compressed 38 hours of work into three working days. I was fried by the time I got home and pretty firmly strapped into the cranky pants. I had a quiet dinner. I spent some time cleaning my laptop of old files and applications. I laid down and read ten pages of the Machiavelli Covenant (excellent thriller by the way). I fell asleep. I slept. I woke up twice during the night. I blinked a couple of times and fell back asleep. I woke up. I came back to work. Groundhog Day! Sent via BlackBerry by AT
