"…Living only for the moment, turning our full attention to the pleasures of the moon, the snow, the cherry blossoms and the maple leaves; singing songs, drinking wine, diverting ourselves just floating, floating….refusing to be disheartened, like a gourd floating along with the river current; this is what we call the floating world…” Asai Ryoi, in Ukiyo Monogatari (Tales of the Floating World, 1661)

The End of the Arc of Vacation
Tonight marks the official end of my vacation. Tomorrow I will rejoin the working world. It was a good vacation and the last two days have been relaxed and enjoyable, even as I was playing reverse Tetris with my apartment. My plan tonight is pretty simple - a long hot bath, a little bit of DVR watching, some reading, and a full night of sleep. I am sure I'll have some more thoughts on this most recent vacation - but for now, tonight, I am content here at the end of the arc of vacation.
