"…Living only for the moment, turning our full attention to the pleasures of the moon, the snow, the cherry blossoms and the maple leaves; singing songs, drinking wine, diverting ourselves just floating, floating….refusing to be disheartened, like a gourd floating along with the river current; this is what we call the floating world…” Asai Ryoi, in Ukiyo Monogatari (Tales of the Floating World, 1661)

Goethe Quote
"I am fully convinced that the soul is indestructible, and that its activity will continue through eternity. It is like the sun, which, to our eyes, seems to set at night, but it has in reality only gone to diffuse its light elsewhere." - Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Six Things I Believe
I believe in the certainty of faith.
I believe probability is the language of the universe.
I believe pragmatism is the only philosophy that works.
I believe in free will and the transformative power of choice.
I believe that happiness is our natural compass.
I believe the human soul is eternal.

I believe the human soul is eternal.

A Day Cooking

Spent the day cooking - the apple crumble, the cream cheese chicken above. Nothing quite like a home cooked meal (and the art of cooking) for it's zen soul soothing properties.
