The Sea - Wallace Stevens

...She sang beyond the genius of the sea...it was her voice that made the sky acutest at its vanishing. She was the single artificer of the world in which she sang. She measured to the hour its solitude....and when she sang, the sea whatever self it had became her song for she was the maker. And we knew as we saw her striding there alone, there never was a world for her except the world she sang and singing made.

Wallace Stevens

This quote is one of the reasons I am addicted to profiles.  This came off the profile of one of the casual visitors to the chat room I call home.  I just think it is a great quote.
